Company history
Stones was an idea that was up and comming for a long, long time. Mark Lawton and Chris Stone both shared a love of good food and drink when they met back in 1995. Both were new fathers (and husbands) and working in very different fields when they started talking about how they could improve on the foods they enjoyed at the restaurants they frequented. As the years went by and their families grew, the guys continued down their seperate paths only once comming together in 1999 to contemplate going to Culinary School in San Francisco. Mark however decided to to finish his Bachelors degree at Sacramento State as Chris headed off to the California Culinary Academy. Seven years later and now eleven members strong, The Lawtons and Stones have finally realized their long talked about dream of opening their own cafe!
